GAC Motor Philippines grows its hybrid lineup with the addition of the GS4 Max HEV. The 2027 GAC GS4 Max HEV is closely related to the Emkoo, and this is immediately apparent from the moment you lay your eyes on its side profile.
The 2027 GAC GS4 Max HEV is positioned below the Emkoo. As such, it has a more conventional front-end design as opposed to the Emkoo’s concept car-like futuristic looks. There’s a wide and tall grille that’s flanked by full LED headlights, along with a chunky front bumper. This vehicle rides on 18-inch wheels with a multi-spoke design, while the side profile contains flush door handles that pop out when unlocked. As for the rear, the GS4 Max HEV gets full-width LED taillights instead of the Emkoo’s vertical LED lights.
As for the interior, the overall architecture is similar to the Emkoo, but the shapes are a bit more conventional and less concept car-like. As standard, there’s a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an aircraft-inspired gear selector, and a wireless charging pad with a built-in cooling fan.
Powering the 2027 GAC GS4 Max HEV is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). Its total system output is 232 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, and it sends its power to the front wheels. GAC Motor claims a total driving range of 1,250 kilometers.
Lastly, the 2027 GAC GS4 HEV comes with a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), which includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB-VRU), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Integrated Cruise Assist (ICA). These come on top of the usual suite of airbags and a 360-degree camera system.
The 2027 GAC GS4 Max HEV is now on sale in the Philippines for P1,298,000, but until September 30, 2026, a P80,000 introductory discount is being offered.
