The current-generation Nissan Navara is already more than 10 years old, with this model originally debuting in 2014. With the automotive market rapidly evolving due to the influx of Chinese offerings, a vehicle that’s more than a decade old could be a recipe for disaster. A new generation Triton-based Navara was unveiled in Australia and New Zealand last year, but it seems there’s going to be another version of the Navara for 2027.
To date, there are already three versions of the Navara. There’s the current D23 Navara we’re already familiar with, plus there’s also the aforementioned Triton-based Navara for Australia and New Zealand. The third version is the Navara Pro, which is essentially the Frontier Pro from the Dongfeng Nissan joint venture. The model you’re supposedly seeing here seems to be a heavily facelifted version of the D23 Navara. The photo has been circulating in Thailand and was posted on a Vietnamese automotive forum website called Auto Daily. Do note that with the prevalence of AI-generated content these days, take these leaked photos with a grain of salt.
Based on what we’re seeing, the next Navara seems to be a heavy facelift of the current model. The front end has been extensively updated, featuring a new grille with integrated tri-bar LED daytime running lights, along with slim vertical LED headlights. There’s also a pronounced lower air intake, along with squared-off wheel arches replacing the rounded ones of the current model. There are no photos of the rear end, but the overall shape of the doors and side windows is your sign that this is still based on the current D23 generation from 2014.
As for the interior, we’re anticipating a heavy refresh as well. This direction is a similar path undertaken by the recently unveiled Nissan Leaf, which is also an extensive facelift of the current generation model.
The leaked photos line up well with Nissan’s teaser back in 2025, in which it showcased a teaser for the new Navara for the Latin American market. The Vietnamese automotive forum also claims that this Nissan Navara might not be sold in Thailand (ironically, where it is manufactured) due to its 2.3-liter turbo diesel engines, the YS23DDT (single turbo) and YS23DDTT (twin-turbo), no longer meeting the country’s emission standards.
With three versions of the Nissan Navara being sold worldwide, which of them is your pick?
