Besides the recently-revealed A5, Audi has unveiled the fully-electric Audi A6. Unlike the A5, which will be offered with electrified internal combustion engines (ICE) only, the 2025 Audi A6 e-tron will be purely electric as the name suggests. If you want a gas-powered A6, you’ll have to wait for the A7. As a way to streamline (or confuse) its lineup, the odd-numbers cars like the A3, A5, and A7 will be the gas-powered models, while even-numbered models like this A6 will be the purely electric e-tron models.

From a styling perspective, credit to where credit is due because the 2025 Audi A6 e-tron pretty much realizes the A6 e-tron concept that was revealed at the 2021 Auto Shanghai. The four-door coupe’s (or Sportback in Audi’s language) curvaceous look somehow reminds us of the fastback silhouette of the Mercedes-Benz EQS (for better or worse) and it prides itself on a low drag coefficient of just 0.21 Cd–not as low as the EQS’s 0.20 Cd, but still very low for a four-door sedan.
Arguably the better looking of the two body styles in our opinion is the wagon (or Avant in Audi’s marketing spiels). The upright roofline and gentle flowing curves complement each other well, giving the A6 Avant e-tron a very striking and smooth appearance. Unsurprisingly, it is less aerodynamic than the sedan version, but at 0.24 Cd, is still one of the lowest for any wagon.
As a nod to its electric vehicle (EV) nature, the A6 e-tron also has split headlights just like in the Q6 e-tron. The grille is enclosed, as expected in an EV, while the adaptive matrix LED headlights and full-width OLED taillights offer different lighting signatures. The OLED taillights, in particular, can even display warnings to drivers driving too close to the A6, as well as when the vehicle is approaching the back of the A6 e-tron too fast.

Moving inside the 2025 Audi A6 e-tron, you’ll spot a dash design that’s modern and made out of plush materials. However, we’re not exactly fans of the copious amount of gloss black surfaces, especially when the optional passenger’s side MMI touchscreen infotainment isn’t selected.
Speaking of screens, the A6 e-tron can have up to five screens, because this vehicle can be equipped with the optional digital side view mirrors. The other three screens measure 11.9 inches for the driver, 14.5 inches for the main infotainment, and 10.9 inches for the optional passenger’s side display. Other luxury highlights of the interior include four-zone climate control, a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound system, a panoramic sunroof that can turn opaque when needed.

Underpinning the 2025 Audi A6 e-tron is Volkswagen Group’s latest Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture that is also used by the Q6 e-tron and Macan EV. The bespoke EV architecture allows up to 270 kW of DC fast charging, while the battery size at the moment is 100 kWh. This battery size is good for up to 750 km for the standard A6, while the performance-oriented S6 can still go an impressive 670 km of range.

Oh yes, we do have an S6, and this performance-oriented model gets a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) layout that 496 hp, but increases to 543 hp when launch control is activated. This is good for a 0-100 kph time of just 3.7 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 240 kph. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, a more potent RS6 is also on its way.
As for the standard A6 e-tron, there are two variants at launch. The base A6 e-tron Performance uses a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) layout that produces 362 horsepower, while the A6 e-tron quattro has a dual-motor AWD setup that’s good for 422 hp.
The 2025 Audi A6 e-tron will first go on sale in Europe as early as September, while a Philippine launch could happen sometime next year through its distributor, PGA Cars.
