Omoda & Jaecoo, which is a brand of Chery Auto, has achieved one million unit sales in just three years. Now that’s rapid, and you have to remember that Omoda & Jaecoo is not sold domestically in China. All of these are global sales, which makes it all the more impressive.
Unprecedented European Success

Some of the major markets that contributed to Omoda & Jaecoo’s rapid growth include the European market. In the UK, for instance, Omoda & Jaecoo achieved a two percent market share in just nine months. Car Dealer magazine in the UK says that this is unprecedented growth, especially when you consider that Hyundai took 27 years to achieve a similar market share. Kia took 18 years to reach this status in the UK, MG took 12 years, while BYD managed the feat in two years.
How did Omoda & Jaecoo achieve such rapid growth? Well, as they entered 69 markets in three years, it means that, on average, Omoda & Jaecoo was entering a new market every 16 days. Today, the brand has 1,364 showrooms worldwide, which is the equivalent of opening one new showroom per day. They also now have 23 subsidiary companies, which includes Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines.
But part of Omoda & Jaecoo’s appeal is its vehicles as well. Particularly in the European market, where they’ve recently achieved unprecedented success, various European publications have commended their vehicles. AutoTrader UK has named the Omoda 5 as the Best Value New Car 2025, while Omoda & Jaecoo was crowned as Brand of the Year 202 by Carwow, among other European publications.
In the Philippines, however, let’s just say that success is taking a bit longer to achieve, but could the brand’s trajectory change in 2026? Let’s hope so, especially since for this year, Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines have already brought in the Jaecoo J5 Hybrid, the most affordable hybrid SUV in the Philippines. Later this year, the brand has also confirmed the arrival of the Jaecoo J8 seven-seater plug-in hybrid, but no specific timetable has been revealed yet.
Product Offensive Driven By Style And Tech
On the product front, Omoda & Jaecoo will continue its product offensive, starting with the recently-launched Omoda 4. It is also in this model that they will be launching their Ultra line of performance accessories and vehicles. It begins with the Omoda 4 Ultra, which features sportier styling through a more expressive bodykit, spoiler, and wheels. Performance-wise, the Omoda 4 Ultra is largely the same as the standard model’s hybrid variant, which features a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder that is mated to an electric motor. This delivers 204 horsepower, 310 Nm of torque, and a 7.5-second 0-100 kph time.
And then there are the upcoming developments and improvements for Omoda & Jaecoo’s vehicles. Young customers love music, so future models will come with an in-house O&J Sound audio system. Whether this means that they’ll be ditching Sony as an audio partner is still unknown at the moment, but O&J Sound will feature up to 23 speakers that feature tweeters with a 24-karat gold diaphragm. Sound quality will further be enhanced by AI Smart Tuning as well.
Speaking of AI, Omoda & Jaecoo will also focus on a new concept called Super AI Cockpit. The Super AI Cockpit concept aims to bring emotional value to the vehicle’s smart features, such as the voice command being able to feel a driver’s emotions and needs. The Super AI Cockpit covers the vehicle’s usage, the vehicle’s controls, navigation, and entertainment, just to name a few.
Lastly, Omoda & Jaecoo debut a new feature that will be rolled out initially to the Jaecoo J5, Jaecoo J7, and Omoda 7. This feature is called Valet Parking Driver (VPD), which allows not just for hands-free parking, but also for completely driverless parking, too. You can step out of the vehicle and head inside your residence or building, and then the vehicle will park on its own at any available parking spot. It also works the other way around, wherein you can summon your vehicle to pick you up rather than work towards it. If this sounds similar to Tesla’s Summon feature, then you’re not too far off–only with a bit more self-parking capabilities thrown in.
Building A Youthful Brand Image
Omoda & Jaecoo is betting on not just the Philippines, but also on other markets as well, for growth by beefing up its marketing campaigns to specifically target young customers. For instance, Omoda & Jaecoo has recently formed a partnership with Riot Games’ Valorant and its VCT EMEA (Valorant Champions Tour: Europe and Middle East) e-sports championship. The first-person shooter video game has a huge, young fanbase, which Omoda & Jaecoo is keen to tap with its major sponsorship for the e-sports event. The major sponsorship for VCT EMEA will last until 2028.
With more than 30,000 professionals as part of its global research and development team, plus more than 10,000 specifically dedicated to software, plus eight chief scientists, Omoda & Jaecoo is focusing on global sales expansion by offering cutting-edge, value-packed vehicles that resonate with young buyers.
But more than just the cars, Omoda & Jaecoo aim to build a brand that isn’t just about its vehicles. Instead, with curated events such as music festivals, as well as participation in cultural events like the London Fashion Week, Omoda & Jaecoo hopes that there is an aspirational value to owning its vehicles.
